Kengo Kato

I received a PhD at the University of Tokyo in 2009. After spending nine years as faculty in Japan (during which I spent one year at MIT), I joined the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Cornell University, where I am currently full professor. My research interests include mathematical statistics, econometrics, and applied probability, with a focus on high-dimensional limit theorems, empirical process theory, quantile regression, and statistical optimal transport. I am currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief of Bernoulli Journal.
